This place reminded me to review them by spamming me on my cellphone for a service 7 years after visiting them. I was a naive new car owner then. They made me change my filters on a new car (complete with scare tactics) in addition to the oil change. They stuck a sticker on the back of my car for a 10% discount on 'labor.' While they had provided a discount on the upcharged labor they also upcharged me for the filters. Basically they charged me two times the OEM price. Must be really hard to procure them I guess. This is the place to get a nice fleecing as a new car owner so that you are forced to learn from your mistakes and invest more time in understanding the wants and needs of your car. 'Never trust a mechanic' has been my motto as a car owner thanks to this place. Talk about a dark origin story...lol

Hi Moiz, Regarding our messaging system, you're more than welcome to respond with ‘Stop’ to be removed from all correspondence. No worries, though! I'll go in and remove you myself. I can see you visited us one time in 2015 for a sticker deal oil change. All shops, including us, change filters with every oil change. It's industry-standard to preserve the life of your vehicle. The sticker deal includes reduced labor pricing as well as vehicle inspection, tire rotation and fluid top off. When you brought your car in it was agreed upon beforehand that the sticker would be placed on your vehicle in return for these additional services. Many of our customers have the sticker on their vehicle, you may see them driving around the area! At Motorpool we take pride in our honest service, we certainly have not built our awesome reputation for being dishonest or shady. We encourage all our clients to learn more about their vehicles and always offer full explanations of what we are doing/recommending and why. If a service can be waited on, done by a different/better-equipped shop, or any other circumstances we are the first to tell our client. We appreciate your review even though it comes 7 years after your single visit, please give us a call if you’d like to reconcile the situation.

The owner, Steve, and his crew are all top notch. Excellent people performing excellent, above-and-beyond service. Why would you ever spend money at a chain or a big-tent shop when you can keep your dollars in your community and support local, family-owned business that won't do you dirty or won't look to take advantage of your lack of expertise like so many mechanic shops do? Anyone in the immediate SJ/South Bay Area should absolutely get any auto services done here. I am between Oakland and SJ all the time, and make sure whenever possible that I am in SJ when I my ride needs maintenance. Thanks Steve! Thanks Motorpool!

The guy on the phone was Kept laughing and he constantly called non-stop even though we told we will pick up then for oil change it took 4 hours , worse customer service ever , don't go out there this place is a joke .
